Inspired by one of the most exploratory artists of her generation, Dorothea Tanning, this fascinating artwork takes you on a journey from the fantastical to the abstract, inviting you to use your own imagination to understand the scene before you. Kristjana S Williams is an Icelandic born artist who studied graphic design and illustration at Central St. Martins. Her work consists of striking compositions combining Victorian engravings with bold colours and illustrations. The main themes of her works are based around exotic botanical and wildlife imagery in contrast to her views of the stark surroundings she grew up with in Iceland. Williams has also produced commissioned pieces, including a 21st century tapestry depicting London, commissioned for The Shard and designing the infamous Christmas displays for Fortnum & Mason's.
